I’ve given a lot of thought to this inland seaplane port idea over the years. My idea is simple:
Take one bulldozer. Push one inch of dirt for 100-500 yards, or more, however long you need for the plane type. Now push that dirt the other way. And repeat. One inch of dirt, however long you need, however wide you need, until the width, height, and length that you need for the plane is needed.
Sell the dirt, or use it for construction.
Now lay down your tarps or feed it continuously, or line your bottom with some type of clay, whatever’s most economical.
For stagnant water, fill with salt as with the ocean’s salinity. Why salt? Salt water doesn’t freeze. Why salt? Salt can be stocked with Mahi Mahi or other types of seafood. Mahi Mahi is delicious, nutritious, and grows extremely fast in its early life cycles. Farmed fish, anywhere in the world, to finance our inland seaport. A warming heater and some filtration and bubblers that they can hang out near. You don’t have to make the whole body of water life supporting, but you can as the farm grows. Vertical integration knows no bounds..
