For this placeholder, I will soon find the courage to open up about another horror story - “The Tale of the Frozen Septic Tank” at the mountain cabin.
In a word, the county or municipality will try to force you into their racketeering scheme - that of the well, septic, electrical pole, foundation, driveway, etc.
Each of these will cost you “'bout (ten, or twenty!) thousand”…
But the septic is a particularly insidious racket. And yes, I chose that word correctly. Modern septic systems, just like UL (electrical listings), are a racket and a scam and it is also true that they’re stealing money from you in kind for crap.
Of course, they don’t actually care if your services work, they just want their cut. And like any good racket, they will literally criminalize their competition. Didn’t anyone read the US Constitution?
Didn’t anyone ask the locals why in some areas it is just accepted that things freeze up that time of year? Why didn’t anyone ask THEM if it was a good idea to usurp both the Law.. and common sense?
My story is one of inheriting the county’s racket problems. And of passing the problems on to the next guy or gal without disclosure. An insidious and common problem brought about entirely by the county or municipality racket or our central banking overlords. Those realtors, real estate commissions / departments, title companies, inspectors, and everyone in between often wanted to attend as well, isn’t that generally speaking the case?
Although we did not build the septic, it was approved by the county and when we moved in it wasn’t until the dead of winter we found out - building code isn’t about health nor safety, it’s about making sure the good old boy’s pockets are padded.
Stay tuned.
